Fighting Against Gender-Based Violence: Sarah Nyang’au Story

For over two weeks, Sarah Nyang’au and her children spent the cold nights in the open with nothing to cover themselves, no food except for the little they got from well-wishers. No one could reach her husband because he doesn’t have a phone with him due to ravaging poverty.
The brothers and hired goons banished her husband when he came back to look for a solution over the ordeal. They have since relocated to Kemera, a nearby small town in Manga sub-county of the larger Nyamira County where Action Smiles International has managed to get a temporary accommodation for them.

Sarah’s Hardship Journey

She visited to our offices seeking help. We could only offer her some food provisions and a few months funds for rent for the accommodation at Kemera Town. We are seeking to get her help with legal litigation to repossess her land. In the meantime, we are seeking for help from our partners to comfortably resettle her and fund her to start a small business to feed her children and means of taking them to school as soon as it can be practically possible.
