ACTION SMILES INTERNATIONAL is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian organization dedicated to uplifting and empowering disadvantaged and marginalized members of Kenyan communities. While we champion the rights and empowerment of women and girls as a cornerstone of community development, our support extends to all vulnerable individuals, including widowers, the elderly, and children, ensuring no one is left behind. We strive to enhance the dignity and well-being of all, fostering environments where every person can thrive. Our operations are rooted in a commitment to equity, justice, and human rights for all.

Operational Area: We currently operate in seven counties within Kenya: Kisii, Nyamira, Narok, Migori, Homabay, Kisumu, and Siaya.

How We Work

Our Approach

ACTION SMILES INTERNATIONAL employs a community-based and participatory approach. We believe in:

Working Collaboratively: We partner closely with local community leaders, groups, and beneficiaries to identify needs and co-create solutions. Together, we are now in the process of acquiring land for a commercial Napier grass project to boost the group’s income and self-reliance.
Holistic Support: We address the interconnected needs of individuals, encompassing their economic, educational, health, and social well-being.
Empowerment, not Dependency: We provide skills and opportunities that lead to long-term self-reliance.
Cultural Sensitivity: We respect local customs and traditions while advocating for positive change.
