Anita represents A.N.Moruri & Co. Advocates, a law firm that has been of tremendous help to many poor people in society by providing pro bono legal services, notably acting for one Sarah Nyang’au from Sironga whose house and property got burnt down, and her small peace of land forcefully taken away after being evicted from her the place.
Another case they successfully obtained justice for baby Sagini on the 25th July 2023 with the main convict being handed a 40 years jail term by the High court sitting in Kisii. Baby Sagini had his two eyes gouged out by people entrusted to take care of him.
Prudent & Integrity Centre for Human Rights Watch
This civil society group, under the stewardship of its Executive Director Julius Akunga, has been very instrumental in enlightening the marginalized groups we are currently handling in financial literacy. Notably the BOMATARA WIDOWS AND WIDOWERS SELF HELP GROUP from Embassy Nyakoe in Kisii county. Widows have had their livestock, cash crops e.g. tea and coffee bushes or even their property forcefully taken from them due to not having an understanding of loan facilities and contracts; these being their only source of livelihood.
